Universal Robots is leading the collaborative robot (“cobot”) space. We’re not like the traditional robot companies, which is a good thing. We think differently, work differently, and grow differently. Now we need a talented and motivated individual to be our Field Service Engineer who is based out of the the Western US region. We need you to live in CA, AZ, or Nevada, with the top preference being California. Together you will be part of a global team helping our customers find a solution to their problems.

Responsibilities

  • Onsite support of our customers in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of UR robots on demand

  • Provide remote technical support with a focus on remediating customer inquiries.

  • Prepare technical documentation (CRM Case Management and applicable warranty and/or field service documents)

  • Manage cases from the recovery process to conclusion.

  • Take responsibility in delivering optimal solutions for internal and external customers.

  • Achieve Technical Support KPI’s for case resolution and customer satisfaction.

  • Can work well autonomously as well as within a team.

Basic Qualifications & Skills

You have an Associate degree or higher in a technical field or engineering. Also, a minimum of 2 to 4 years’ experience in robotics, or the industrial automation industry. You possess a strong mechanical and electrical background. Previous field troubleshooting and repair experience is preferred. It would be great, but not required, if you possessed functional knowledge in a high-level programming language such as C++/Java/Python.

Additional requirements:

  • Ability to work in home office 20% of the time and in the field 80%.

  • Be located within 1 hour of a major airport in CA, AZ, or NV.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Superior analytical skills and ability to find resolution.

  • High level of attention to detail

  • Customer facing experience with a hands-on approach.

  • Organized with the ability to manage multiple service cases/tasks simultaneously. Effectively prioritize projects and tasks

  • Possesses strong business acumen and the ability to work with indirect supervision.

Education

Associate degree or higher in a technical field or engineering. or relevant experience.
