Teradyne Mechanical Engineer in Kumamoto, Japan

Teradyne is a global technology company delivering industry-leading ATE (Automated Test Equipment) solutions for customers around the world with advanced testing challenges.

The Mechanical Engineering team is looking for a highly-motivated, energetic, technically driven Mechanical Engineer to focus on the development, verification and maintenance of mechanical systems for products within the Semiconductor Test division.

Japan Mechanical team is the part of US Mechanical Engineering group and development occurs in a dynamic and challenging multi-site development environment.





Basic Qualifications & Skills

  • Practical experience in mechanical design and/or mechanical structural design

  • Practical experience 2D/3D cad software (AutoCad, Draftsight, and Solidworks is a plus)

  • Must be able to generate Mechanical design and documentation of components and assemblies, including generating complete detailed drawings of piece parts and assemblies

  • Must be self-motivated, team oriented, and “hands-on”

  • Ability to work across cultures and geographies to produce results

  • Travel to customer sites, suppliers, or engineering sites located anywhere in the world

  • Native level Japanese that enables the business communication with the customers

  • Japanese Driving license


  • メカ設計・もしくは機構設計の実務経験がある方

  • 2次元もしくは3次元CADの経験ある方

  • 詳細部品図・組図の作図を含む、機械設計・製図を作成できる方

  • 自発的で、チーム指向であり、かつ「実践的」である方

  • 文化や地域を超えて働ける方

  • 世界中の顧客、サプライヤー、またはエンジニアリングサイトに出張出来る方

  • 海外のテラダイン社員と英語でコミュニケーションを行えると望ましいが、少なくとも英語でのコミュニケーションを躊躇しない方

  • 英文ドキュメント/メールの読み書き (辞書を使いながらで可)ができる方

  • 日本の顧客とビジネス会話ができるくらい日本語が流暢な方

  • 普通自動車免許を有している方


  • BS or MS in mechanical engineering, or related field from an engineering institution

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of practical mechanical development experience


  • 大学または技術機関(高専含む)で機械工学もしくは関連工学分野を卒業された方

  • 機械設計・開発の実務経験が最低2-3年程度ある方
