Teradyne MiR Sales Development Manager (Northeast) in Massachusetts

At MiR, are looking for an experienced Area Sales Manager to develop sales through a network of partners (Distributors, Certified Systems Integrators, OEMs). The distributor and integrator partners focus within the manufacturing and logistics industries. They have extensive knowledge of their respective markets and focus on supplying effective, technical solutions. Your primary areas of responsibility will be to support and develop our distributors, penetrate target Global Accounts, and above all, generate sales.

As a partner for your distributors, you will have the technical strength to give in-depth product information to your distributors. You will coordinate and communicate internally with partners to communicate market information as well as competitive intelligence. Ideally you live in the Northeast US. This is a remote position up to 50% travel required.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Establish new partnerships (distributors, integrators, OEMs, Global Account End Users) in the region.

  • Support existing distributors as they go through our sales process (Qualify Project, Successful Robot Demo, Proof of Concept, Integration).

  • Visits to end customers.

  • Participate in PR and marketing events.

  • Responsible for preparing and executing on sales and marketing budgets.

  • Manage customer relationships. Develop continual knowledge about our customers.

  • Build rapport with key decision makers.

  • Focus on reporting, volume planning and forecasting. Use existing reporting tools for customer visits, contract management, and budgeting.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-7 years’ sales experience (distribution and / or manufacturer)

  • Automation sales experience is a strong plus.

  • Strong ability to close

  • Demonstrable success in advising on / selling technical products.

  • Ability to travel up to 50%

  • Highly motivated with infectious energy and passion.

  • Ability to create trust among dealers through long term, methodical, and persistent effort.

  • Possess cultural understanding, emotional intelligence, and responsiveness.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or other technical discipline.
