Are you passionate about ensuring the highest levels of product reliability and performance? Teradyne is seeking a talented and experienced Reliability Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Reliability Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the robustness and dependability of our cutting-edge products. You will apply your expertise in reliability engineering principles and methodologies to drive product excellence from conception through production.

Responsibilities

Provide reliability guidance and support to design personnel for product development and assist in component selection and use for improved product reliability. Work with design personnel in product development and apply design for reliability concepts. Proven ability to plan, implement and lead Highly Accelerated Life test (HALT), write test reports, lead Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), perform reliability budgeting, estimating, and reliability risk mitigation. Ability to conduct FEA (Finite Element Analysis) in Ansys Mechanical and apply Ansys Sherlock to estimate solder joint reliability. Apply reliability process to all phases of product development and provide reliability process and design for reliability training. Evaluate and qualify new technologies for reliability.

Basic Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience with Design FMEA

  • Experience in environmental stress testing and failure analysis to root cause

  • Hands-on experience with Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT)

  • Hands-on experience with Accelerated Life Testing (ALT) and stress test methods

  • Experience with statistical methods for modeling accelerated life tests results.

  • Experience in designing test fixtures and developing reliability test procedures.

  • Working knowledge of test equipment and instrumentation (i.e. oscilloscopes, DMM’s, Spectrum analyzers and generators, etc) and a demonstrated ability to set-up tests and write test report.

  • Experience with Design for Reliability (DFR) guidelines

  • Experience in component derating and application

  • Experience with reliability budgeting, estimating and reliability growth

  • Experience with redundancy and fault tolerance

  • Experience with predictive and preventative maintenance

  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Statistical Software packages, reliability analysis software (ReliaSoft Weibull++ and BlockSim, Ansys Sherlock and Ansys Mechanical)

  • Good verbal, written and persuasion skills

  • High energy individual with good presentation and training skills

Education

BSEE or equivalent with 5 years or more reliability engineering experience and experience in the design of electrical assemblies and systems engineering. MS in Reliability Engineering and experience in the Automated Test Equipment design (ATE) a plus. Job requires 10% travel.
