Teradyne Universal Robots Training Specialist (North Reading, MA) in North Reading, Massachusetts

Universal Robots is seeking a Technical Trainer for its North Reading, MA location. In this role, you’ll work for the US West Regions of Universal Robots. And let’s face it, what’s cooler than robots and automation?

We are leading the collaborative robot (“cobot”) space, having captured 60% market share in less than ten years. We’re not like the traditional robot companies, which is a good thing. We think differently, work differently and grow differently. Now we need a talented and motivated individual to be our Technical Trainer and Applications Support collaborating with our Application Engineers and Trainer Managers. Together you will be part of a team dedicated to training for the Eastern/Western North American market i.e. teach our partners, distributors and end users how to make our robots maximize their efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver training to customers of all types (end users, distributors, integrators, OEMs, etc.)

  • Maintain training activities and facilities at multiple UR locations.

  • Assist with the design and development of training materials

  • Assist with proof of concepts and various other tasks in our robot applications lab

  • Stay informed on industry trends and technology to enhance training.

    Success Criteria

  • Ensure consistent delivery of training content.

  • Ability to work as a team, supporting the initiatives of two departments.

  • Support Application Engineers in the applications lab.

    Requirements:

    You are expected to come with an associate’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related subject. A bachelor’s degree is desirable. Also 2+ years’ experience in robotics or automation industry is desirable. Furthermore, experience in conducting technical seminars and/or technical training is desirable to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.

    Must also have:

  • Documented practical experience within automation and/or robot programming.

  • Experience with technical training and customer visits.

  • Knowledge of implementation and facilitation of technical, and/or specialty training

  • Understands how people learn most effectively.

  • Fluency in English

  • Experience in programming languages is desirable.

  • Excellent at making others learn not “promoting own skills”

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to transfer knowledge. Must have a good understanding of cross-cultural differences and the ability to work within them.

  • Commuting distance from our North Reading, MA office with the ability to work in the office 3+ days/week.

  • Certifications in training (e.g., Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+)), is a plus

    Travel Expectation

    Up to 25%.
