Teradyne Firmware Engineer in San Jose, California

Duties & Responsibilities :

Firmware engineers are responsible for developing the software required to control our 0.5 to 6 GHz wireless test equipment.

  • Develop multiplatform embedded firmware for LitePoint new products

  • Develop automated test scripts to exercise the firmware and hardware. These test scripts should be able to isolate problems in the design

  • Develop firmware design specifications, communicate and verify these specifications with the RF/logic designers, and implement these in a timely and high quality manner

  • Low level API development

Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education Required

  • BS Degree in CE or EE with Embedded Development Experience

  • ​Experience in controlling and programming RF circuits

  • Experience using oscilloscopes, signal generator and spectrum analyzer

  • 5-10 years developing multitasking embedded firmware in C/C++

  • Experience with interfaces such as SPI, PCIe and UART

  • Proficient developing structured software in C/C++ and working with existing code bases

  • Self - motivated, efficient and reliable. excellent communication skills

  • Must be capable of verbal and written English

  • Experience to work with multiple teams effectively

Organization & Role

The Teradyne Software Engineering team is looking for a highly-motivated, energetic, technically driven Software Engineer to focus on the development of software systems for products within the division. Development occurs in a dynamic and challenging multi-site development environment. This individual will report directly to the Software Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implementation, test, and deployment of software components for the

  • Understanding customer requirements and finding solutions that fit within our existing software architecture

  • Develop scalable, high-performance, high-quality, extensible, and maintainable software

  • Work with software verification engineers to devise an effective test strategy
