Organization & Role

This is not an entry level position. The successful candidate must have 5+ years of relevant experience with electro-mechanical design.

The candidate will be able to take product requirements and with minimal oversight, be able to develop detailed design solutions, be able to present to other design engineers and manufacturing engineers the proposed solution, perform DFM with vendors, and prepare final drawings and BOMs for fabrication. The candidate will also be able to build initial prototypes of the proposed design to complete validation and perform any required design verification. Ability to work with a team is a must. Also, the ability to communicate effectively in a remote environment is a key requirement. Finally, being curious, a self-starter, and eager to take on new challenges are attributes of the successful engineer at Nextest.

Responsibilities

+Familiar with Solidworks and PDM tools

+Familiar with sheetmetal design

+Familiar with the design weldments and machined parts

+Familiar with stress/strain analysis and FEA

+Able to prepare presentations explaining work and design proposal to remote teams

+Familiar with remote collaboration tools (Teams, Webex, Zoom, etc.)

+Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+Demonstrated ability to work successfully with a team

Basic Qualifications & Skills

Additional Skills that will be helpful. The successful candidate will have at least some of these skills:

+Experience with UR robot programming and application development

+Fluid handling and distribution for liquid cooling systems

+Electrical Power distribution and design

+Familiar with Safety compliance requirements (SEMI-S2/S8, IEC 61010, etc.)

+Electronics cooling (both air and liquid cooling)

+Thermal analysis

+PWB design (note that experience with Allegro is a plus)

+Cable harness design

+Pneumatics design

+Mechanism design

+Injection molding experience

+Experience with microcontrollers and sensors

+High speed signal delivery (coaxial cables and connectors)

+Backplane design

+Experience with Semiconductor capital equipment design is a plus

+Experience with ATE or other Teradyne BU is a strong plus

+Fluency with Korean (not required)

Education

+BS or MS in mechanical engineering or related field

With 5+ years of relevant experience with electro-mechanical design.
