As a Technical Project Manager in Global Services Organization, located at our San Jose, CA offices you will have the opportunity to experience a range of activities, which vary week to week and sometimes day to day. Two main responsibilities for Technical Project Manager & Field Applications Engineer are:
Manage projects. This includes sizing and quoting projects, then managing the work to deliver those projects to customers. (50% of time)
Providing direct technical support to customers. (50% of time)
Duties & Responsibilities:
Teradyne is looking for a Technical Project Manager & Field Applications Engineer to manage multiple projects at different stages in their life cycle while also providing direct technical support to customers. Your responsibilities include:
Managing overall program objectives by integrating Teradyne’s internal resources, vendors and customer resources
Manage overall cost, scope objectives, and programs profit margin
Integrate input from various sources to propose solutions (respond to RFPs)
Using industry standard techniques and tools to measure progress against program objectives.
Drive proactive corrective action where required
Manage scope change
Communicate periodic project assessment to internal teams and external customers
Assist sales and technical teams by providing technical direction
Devise innovative techniques for testing and characterizing leading edge technology.
Write and debug test programs in C/Visual Basic code
Create demonstration development programs and presentations.
Identify trends in customer IC development to help guide the development of new Teradyne ATE instrumentation
Develop competitive benchmarks to differentiate us from the competition
Travel to customer sites to support Design Engineers, Test Engineers, Product Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers. Travel requirements may be 25% or greater.
Work with Sales and Marketing to develop sales and support strategies
Attend trade shows as a technical representative.
Write and present technical papers at our professional conference
Teach technical classes and seminars to customers and Teradyne engineers

Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education Required:
Qualified Applicants will have:
Project management or supervisor role experience
Prefer knowledge of IG-XL and/or ETS software
7+ years of technical experience
